This negative print features the iconic Beijing National Stadium, which was designed by artist and activist Ai Weiwei and Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Shi constructed a large camera obscura near the site and placed a piece of light-sensitive photographic paper within, exposing it to the projected image of the stadium. This latent image challenges the fundamentals of photography and provokes contemplation of disappearing memories.
