These round frames resemble a binocular view or mirrors facing one another. Between the drawn red curtains are two female nudes, who are faceless and hairless. One of them playfully pinches the other’s nipple, recalling a scene in a famous French palace court painting from the 1500s. The scenery behind the figures looks almost identical to the landscape design on a twenty-yuan bill. The stone fence the figures lean against is covered with graffiti that translates into ‘Hey hey hello hi’, bringing to mind the ‘I was here’ scribblings by tourists. The white outer frame is decorated with crude floral patterns, exhibiting a mundane sort of elegance.
