Liu Jianhua (born 1962, Ji'an) graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1989 with a major in sculpture. He is best known for his experimental approach in incorporating porcelain into the shapes and forms of daily objects as a way to reflect on the economic and societal changes in China. Liu lives and works in Shanghai.
