M+ Youth Integrated Learning Programme and M+ Lars Nittve Keynote Lecture Series

Since 2021, The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong has been supporting two public programmes—the M+ Youth Integrated Learning Programme and the M+ Lars Nittve Keynote Lecture Series.

Learning is at the heart of M+'s work, with a focus on youth participation and engagement. The M+ Youth Integrated Learning Programme is a hallmark of M+, empowering this audience group with visual and emotional literacy as well as taking care of their physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being.

Named after the founding director of M+, the M+ Lars Nittve Keynote Lecture Series invites key figures and thought leaders from the global arts and culture scene to share their experiences and insights with the general public in Hong Kong. The lectures explore the most influential cultural projects of today, which have helped shape and inform the current arts ecosystem.

‘The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong strongly supports M+’s commitment to learning as a crucial element of a strong arts ecosystem. Our support includes sponsoring M+’s multidimensional youth learning programme, and the annual lecture series that brings in world-renowned speakers to share their ideas. We are excited to see the establishment of M+ as a world-class contemporary visual culture museum right in the heart of Hong Kong. The Foundation looks forward to the discovery, inquiry, and exchange happening at M+.’

M+ Curatorial Position

With support from the De Ying Foundation, M+ established the position of De Ying Associate Curator, Visual Art, in 2020; the first-ever funded curatorship in M+’s history. Dr Mo WU, the first holder of this position, has been strengthening the museum’s curatorial efforts in the acquisition, research, and presentation of Chinese art in the M+ Collections.

‘As the home of the M+ Sigg Collection, M+ provides a fertile ground for grooming young curators specialised in Chinese contemporary art. The Foundation is proud to advance the important curatorial work that enhances the diffusion of knowledge in the region, inspiring the next generations of Chinese art leaders and growing audiences.’

M+ Educators Programme

The M+ Educators Programme, supported by the Lo Kwee Seong Foundation, is committed to grooming less-privileged, local young talents with educational backgrounds in arts and culture. It aims to strength the local ecosystem in Hong Kong by cultivating a pioneering group of museum educators, providing them with career advancement opportunities aligned with their fortes and interests of pursuit.

‘Since April 2022, we are grateful to support M+ to launch the first M+ Educators Programme to equip and train in-house museum educators. We encourage youths with talent and passion for arts and culture to join and contribute to the growth of the institution as Asia’s leading museum of contemporary visual culture.’
