Spotlight on the M+ Asian Avant-Garde Film Circulation Library

Launched in 2024, the Asian Avant-Garde Film Circulation Library is a new collection-development initiative dedicated to preserving and promoting Asian experimental film and video art. Focused on single-channel short films and videos created in Asia from the 1960s to the 1990s, the project celebrates and safeguards this vital cultural heritage.

In 2025, M+ will launch its international touring programme for the Asian Avant-Garde Film Circulation Library in collaboration with film, art, and academic partners, bringing these remarkable works to audiences worldwide. All films will also be made available in the M+ Mediatheque, providing M+ audiences with free and on-demand access to this ever-growing collection.

The Asian Avant-Garde Film Circulation Library is supported by CHANEL.
