Sounds from the Stones

Sounds from the Stones features four artist films from Japan, Palestine, Thailand, and the UK that consider stones as living things. In the shanshui landscape tradition, rocks and stones are fundamental elements that represent the enduring, powerful aspects of nature. They are not merely decorative but embody spiritual and symbolic significance.

In this programme, stones are perceived as a channel for us to reflect on the cycle of life. It probes the past, the present, and the future to posit the urgent question: How should we be repairing our precarious relationship with nature?
