Linda Linda Linda

The school festival is just around the corner, and Kei (Yuu Kashii), Kyoko (Aki Maeda), and Nozomi (Shiori Sekine) are in a hurry to replace their guitarist and vocalist, who dropped out from their rock band last-minute. Desperate for a miracle, the girls recruit Korean exchange student Son (Bae Doona) in a destined corridor encounter to sing for the band. All is set in motion—clumsy rehearsals, secret crushes, budokan dreams—and together they race to the stage for possibly the most lovable cover of THE BLUE HEARTS’ ‘Linda Linda’.

Nobuhiro Yamashita’s cult favourite Linda Linda Linda returns in 4K, 20 years since its original release. Brimming with awkwardness and pure joy, the film is a charming ode to seishun (‘youth’), and stands alongside such gems as Swing Girls (2004) and Nana (2005) to mark the golden age of films about Japanese teenage bands.
