Percival Goodman was commissioned to build a new suburban synagogue for this congregation in June 1961, which replaced the previous urban synagogue dating from 1927. Construction began in June 1963 and the synagogue was dedicated in March 1965. This project was numbered B12 by Wang Chiu-Hwa.
