In Agenda No. 3, ten chairs of different sizes and shapes can interlock like a jigsaw puzzle to form a circle. Since the late 1990s, Freeman Lau has used the chair as a way to investigate interpersonal relationships and community dynamics. This work sets up a forum for negotiating differences and seeking consensus. Could design facilitate the diverse and at times conflicting voices in society?
