1980–1989
This pink-and-cream-coloured cocktail dress has a loosely fitted bodice that gathers into a choker collar at the top and a skirt with three layers of stand-out frills. It is one of Pierre Cardin’s more playful designs and comes with a matching scarf or stole with the same abstract floral pattern. As the photo shows, Becky Zau, one of Song Huai-Kuei’s models, preferred to use the accessory as a sash around the waist. This creative hack makes the dress tighter around the middle and the frills kick out more prominently.
