Becky Zau, one of the models cast and trained by Song Huai-Kuei, wore this three-quarter-length black shift dress at an event at Maxim’s in 1988. Brought from Cardin’s Paris atelier to Beijing, it features a boat neckline and dolman sleeves. The simple cut contrasts with the dynamically shaped organza panels with latticed sequins, which travel from the body of the dress to the left shoulder and form a playful oversized bow.
