bad day x M+
bad day x M+
We all know what it's like to have a bad day. Sometimes we need a little help to navigate the emotions that arise.
From early 2026, M+ works in collaboration with bad day Festival by Caritas to bring forth both the ‘bad day self-help cafe’ and Community Day. Through inviting various communities and the public to activities at M+, this programme will allow visitors to explore ways of coexistence with hardships, making connecting between art and mental health.
‘bad day self-help cafe’ Drop-in
This activity is available for all M+ Ticket holders to join with no registration required. Tickets must be presented before entering the galleries.
The ‘bad day self-help cafe’ sits in a corner inside the exhibition M+ Sigg Collection: Inner Worlds, introducing simple grounding exercises to visitors for taking a pause and to focus on their feelings at the moment.
Date: 27 January 2026 to mid-April 2026
Location: Breakout Space, Sigg Galleries, L2, M+
Community Day
Community Day invites individuals and communities interested in the topic of emotions and stress to explore how art can be transformed into a tool for inner strength in the face of a bad day, through a relaxed introductory session, conversations, guided tours, and workshops. Each of the four sessions over two event days will present designated themed activities for various audiences.
About the Programme
‘bad day’ is an initiative launched in 2023 by the Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre and the Caritas Crisis Line and Education Centre. Through experiential activities, lectures, and workshops, the project aims to deepen our understanding of crisis and trauma and strengthen our mental health and resilience.
