As the second edition of the Creative Day Camp, M+ continues to commit to creating a space that embraces imagination and creative freedom. Using various visual art and design as inspiration, we invite children and adults to imagine and respond in different family activities. Through sharing, each family member’s creativity and feelings can be acknowledged.

We hope that the Camp can realise every child’s imaginative world. In this results-oriented era, we place greater importance on the beauty and meaning found in the process. The Camp activities are designed to create a safe space that encourages everyone to express freely. Throughout the process, children will see and respect one another, whether interacting with objects on display or communicating with others.

The museum is not only a source of inspiration but also a place that witnesses each participant's uniqueness and significance. Children can challenge themselves and shape the space that they envision.

Hiding in gaps under tree trunks, beneath tables, inside wardrobes... Children always have imaginative ideas, discovering little-known yet fascinating secret spaces in everyday life. If given a space, what would they create?

This workshop invites children to explore various spaces in their lives, from easily forgotten corners to the larger environments we inhabit, encouraging them to re-examine their surroundings from a fresh perspective. The artist will collaborate with the children to construct large-scale art installations using different materials, allowing them to experience the interaction and relationship between space and people.

The activities will be conducted in small groups, guided by M+ Educators. They will explore the diverse objects on display and materials in various galleries within the museum. After the exploration, extended creative workshop will be held to let children experiment with different materials hands-on. During the process, children will collaborate and problem-solve to work together creating unique works.

While the activities emphasise child-led experiences, we also value their learning in groups. This allows them to understand themselves through discussion and negotiation and learn to respect and appreciate different opinions.

As the conclusion on the third day, the sharing session will summarise the children's experiences over the past few days. Through behind-the-scenes video clips, participants and their parents will understand how the activities have inspired the imagination of children and have the chance to communicate their observations and feelings with M+ Educators.

• All camp activities will take place at M+.
• Participants are required to attend all three days of the camp. On the first two days, parents must pick up and drop off their children on time after the activities. On the third day, parents are required to attend the camp activities with their children.
• The camp activities will be primarily conducted in Cantonese. M+ Educators can provide English translations for certain segments of the activities, but participants must have a basic understanding of Cantonese to communicate and collaborate with other participants.
• Lunch will be provided for the participating children on the first two days of the camp. Parents must specify any food allergies or special dietary restrictions of the participating children in the registration form.
• In the event of inclement weather, if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is in effect at 7:00 AM or later on the camp day, the camp activities for that day will be cancelled. Activities that are already in progress will continue. There will be no refunds for the camp fees that have been paid.

Fee: HKD 2,500 (including three-day camp activities for one child, such as fees for museum tickets and lunch for the first two days. Each participating child can bring up to two parents to join the camp activities on the third day without additional ticket purchase). M+ Members enjoy a 15% discount on the fee. Discounted fee is priced at HKD 2,125 with limited quota available.

Registration Deadline: 12 June 2025 (Thursday)

Selection Criteria: The camp aims to have participants from different age groups to facilitate mixed-age and peer learning. If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, the information provided by parents in the registration form regarding their reasons for participation and expectations will be considered.

Result Announcement: Notification of acceptance will be sent via email to parents on or before 27 June 2024 (Friday). Parents must follow the instructions to submit the payment to confirm the participation.

If payment is not completed within the time frame given, the museum will consider it a forfeiture and will not provide further notice. Details of the Day Camp activities will be announced in the confirmation email sent after payment is received.
