M+’s In Conversation series invites artists, makers, curators, and creative practitioners to engage in interactive and informal conversations about their works, creative practices, and experiences. Crossing disciplines and times, we invite all audiences, regardless of their knowledge about visual culture, to join the conversations.

In this talk, artists Tina Liu and Wong Yankwai will muse on their creative roles from the 1970s to now. The multi- and inter-disciplinary nature of their works reflect the uniqueness of Hong Kong's visual culture. The artists will share stories from their experience at the groundbreaking culture and lifestyle publication City Magazine during its formative years. The conversation will trace their pioneering practices across painting, film, television, music, image consulting, and writing, among others. Join us for some behind-the-scenes reflections of Hong Kong’s creative worlds from the 1970s to 2000s. This talk will be moderated by Tina Pang, Curator of Hong Kong Visual Culture at M+.

Simultaneous interpretation in English will be available.
