Inside Stories–Curating Moving Image for Hong Kong:
Here and Beyond
Moving image can capture and express the diverse visual culture of a place in the most direct way, whether through made-for-television dramas and entertainment shows, TV commercials, feature films, or music videos. For Hong Kong, it is a medium that has had the widest reach regionally and internationally, propelling the city’s popular culture and film culture to global influence.
In this talk, M+ Curator of Moving Image Chanel Kong and M+ Curator-at-large of Hong Kong Film and Media Li Cheuk-to will share their insights into curating moving image for M+’s opening display Hong Kong: Here and Beyond. They will converse with Winnie Fu and Chan Wing-chiu from CoDeCode, a specialist media production house engaged by M+ for the exhibition.
This free talk will be held in Cantonese. Simultaneous interpretation in English will be available. Click on ‘Register’ to sign up for this event.
