Founded by multi-disciplinary designer Niko Leung in 2020, TMML STUDIO is a Hong Kong-based design practice dedicated to cultivating openness and curiosity through the exploration of objects, materials, and spaces. The studio works across art, design, architecture, and recycling at a variety of scales, creating designs that are novel for our living and thoughtful of our land.
In 2021, TMML STUDIO launched Hong Kong Soil, an initiative focused on researching and repurposing discarded construction materials into raw materials for ceramics and rammed earth. Hong Kong Soil creates functional and non-functional ceramics and earth objects for homes and public spaces, organizes workshops for the public to advocate meaningful reuse of our finite resources.
TMML stands for Tou Min Mei Loy (透明未來), which means ‘Future is Transparency’ in Cantonese, and this guides the studio’s dedication to honesty and sincerity in every design they make.
The conversation will be facilitated by Harmony Yuen, Assistant Curator, Learning and Interpretation of M+.
Participants should arrange for their own transportation to the programme venue.
