This event is open to all members of the public; no registration is needed.
The event is free-of-charge and offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
M+ launches an open studio so all visitors can try their hands at printmaking and experience the thrill of surprise.
If printmaking could be summarised in one word, it would be ‘surprise’. This art form is full of unexpected moments—from the thrill of designing a print only to see it emerge as a flipped mirror image to the endless possibilities of layering colours, textures, and marks. The result remains a mystery until the very last press, yet that very uncertainty is what makes the printmaking process so enjoyable.
The Open Print Studio will be open to the public throughout the exhibition period of Zao Wou-Ki: Master Printmaker. Participants will experiment with texture creation in printmaking and explore a wide range of possibilities where even a slight change in colour choices or technique can lead to completely different prints.
You will take home from the Open Print Studio a print entirely designed and created by yourself. No registration or prior experience is required.
This activity is self-guided; you are recommended to spend 15 minutes within the studio.
