View of artworks in an exhibition gallery. In the centre, a person stands looking at a painting on a wall, which stretches from the viewer's right to the centre. The painting depicts the rear view of a bald figure in a pink shirt facing three approaching figures against a body of water. The entrance to another room in the gallery is in the left half. Four grey-toned paintings of the same man laughing in different ways are arranged in a row and installed on the wall at the far end of the room.

Curious about how we put together M+? The 'Open Up M+' series invites you to explore the different aspects of the museum—from the building as an architectural landmark to the collaborative effort from across teams in the making of our exhibitions. Go behind the scenes with M+. Hear from curators, conservators, learning specialists, and installation technicians as they share their perspectives and experiences.

In this talk, Pi Li, Sigg Senior Curator and Head of Curatorial Affairs, and Isabella Tam, Associate Curator of Visual Art, will converse with Keri Ryan, Curator of Learning and Interpretation. They will discuss their curatorial approach and challenges and possibilities that emerge in response to the works of the M+ Sigg Collection, showcasing as a permanent display at M+ for the first time.

Simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese will be available during this talk.
