Young People Meet-Up:
Poetry on Animation

This workshop is for participants ages 16 to 24. Please bring valid ID.

The workshop ticket will include same-day access to General Admission exhibitions (excluding Special Exhibition). Please retain a copy of your ticket to facilitate your entry to the galleries.

Join this workshop to experience creativity across the disciplines! Draw inspiration from the vivid imagery and rhythmic cadences in poetry to create your own stop-motion animation.

Filmmaker STEP C. was commissioned by M+ for the moving image project, ‘Poetry on Film’. Her work bridges the gap between the real and fantasy. STEP C. will introduce the basic concepts of animation creation. Based on the rich visual elements found in poetry, she will guide participants step-by-step in transforming text into animation. Participants can then create characters, craft scenes utilizing everyday objects and settings. Weave together the elements of poetry and film to visualize your imaginative world.

Our Young Collective member will lead you to the ‘Poetry on Film’ screening programme at Grand Stair at the end of the workshop.
