Son of the White Mare

Under a colossal oak tree at the gates of the Underworld, a divine white mare gives birth to her third son, the Treeshaker. Nursing him until her last breath, the horse goddess entrusts her heroic, glowing child with the quest of defeating the three malevolent dragons who seized control over the world. With his superhuman strength and boundless courage, the Treeshaker reunites with his brothers, the Stonecrumbler and the Irontemperer, and embarks on an epic journey to save the universe.

Son of the White Mare was the second feature by the legendary Hungarian animator Marcell Jankovics, in which mythical creatures became shifting blocks of vibrant colors against a hypnotic synth score. Often hailed as the greatest psychedelic animation of all time, the mind-bending fable is even more of a kaleidoscopic fever dream in its latest 4K restoration.
