Have you ever fantasised about encountering the pixel monsters of video games in the real world?
Responding to the Special Exhibition Myths and Monsters: The Art of Fantasy in Asia, this drop-in activity—designed by the creative duo Stickyline—invites participants to unleash their imagination and create their own pixel monsters.
Guided by M+ Educators, this activity will invite you to use colorful paper sculpting components to bring their imaginative ideas to life, shaping their own unique pixel monsters. These creations will be connected with other participants, collectively building a vibrant paper art scene composed of diverse pixel monsters that ‘hack’ an unexpected new look to the museum environment.
About the Designers
The creative duo Stickyline, composed of two Hong Kong-born designers Mic Leong and Soilworm Lai, is renowned for their large-scale paper sculptural installations. They use geometric structures to assemble layered paper models, creating site-specific works that are filled with humour and whimsy. Stickyline's unconventional pieces resonate with the unique qualities of different contexts, transforming ordinary spaces into spectacles that inspire creative interaction between individuals and delve deeper into the relationship between people and places.
