We like to imagine that monsters, like humans, eat, play, and rest. They laugh and cry, have their own likes and dislikes, and have different personalities. Are monsters always frightening? Or does every monster have a hidden side waiting to be discovered?
This drop-in family event coincides with the Special Exhibition Myths and Monsters: The Art of Fantasy in Asia. M+ Educators will lead storytelling sessions that invite children and adults to read illustrated books about monsters from different regions and cultures. By challenging stereotypical ideas of monsters, the sessions will encourage children to empathise with the everyday lives and emotional needs of others, while inspiring them to consider diverse forms of life from perspectives that extend beyond the exhibition.
