Get in the groove with iconic retro hits at Disco Night—an audio-visual celebration that will transform the Lightwell Hall with Cantopop and dance tracks.
The 1980s were the golden era for Cantopop. Hong Kong discos became flamboyant cultural landmarks, where revellers would catch mini concerts and album launches and rub shoulders with popstars like Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui, and members of Tat Ming and Beyond.
Travel back in time with pioneering graphic designer Alan Chan, known for his work with artists including Leslie Chung, and emerging media artist Tedman Lee. They will give M+ a dance-floor-style makeover with sets, lighting, and projections. Completing the mood, DJs Alok Leung and Shelf-Index will be ready to spin live remixes of iconic Cantopop songs and dance hits. Sparkle your way through the night with your favorite disco-inspired outfit. We recommend participants to wear shiny or glittery clothing pieces.
