Wellbeing Saturday:
Gentle Flow in Dream Rooms

This event is for participants aged 16 and above. No prior related experience in mindfulness is required to participate.

Gentle movement exercises will take place on the floor. You are recommended to wear comfortable clothing for the event and bring a towel or scarf to keep yourself warm. A yoga mat is not necessary.

When entering the exhibition space in the West Gallery, participants must remove their shoes and wear socks.

Please read ‘House Rules’ for exhibition arrangements.

The workshop ticket will include same-day access to the galleries. Please retain a copy of your ticket to facilitate your entry to the galleries.

Please see 'Event Arrangements' below for details.

Enjoy the tranquil moments before the museum opens, awaken your body through mindful movement, and immerse yourself in the ethereal atmosphere of Dream Rooms: Environments by Women Artists 1950s–Now.

Large-scale environments invite visitors to actively engage and consciously step into the unknown, making each person’s experience uniquely their own. In this wellbeing workshop, art educator and mindfulness instructor Lau Tin Ming will guide you through gentle yoga movements to heighten your senses in your thoughts and emotions, bringing our awareness to the present moment. By practicing ‘slow looking’, we will move mindfully through these dreamlike immersive environments. You will be gently led to experience the texture of the objects, light, sounds, breeze, and temperature—eliciting curiosity, surprise, confusion, or even discomfort. With each breath, you will sense how the mind and body resonate with the subtle details of the artworks, deepening your connection to the surrounding space.

Step away from the world of infinite scroll, and take a moment to experience art, grounded in full-bodied presence and mindful engagement.

The Wellbeing Saturday Programme series takes place once every month on a Saturday, featuring a series of art and museum activities that focus and strengthen your mind, body, and spirit and help to make personal connections with art.
