Behind the Restoration:
The Aesthetics of ‘Love Massacre’
Join us at M+ Cinema for ‘Behind the Restoration’ Talks & ‘What is Film, Anyway?’ Workshops, complementing the screenings in the M+ Restored Programme and exploring the history and appeal of celluloid.
A series of talks and workshops will be held to complement the screenings in the M+ Restored Programme. ‘Behind the Restoration’ invites the restoration team to explain their work interactively and detail key procedures in film preservation and digital restoration. Curators and guest speakers will also discuss the Hong Kong New Wave, featured prominently in the M+ Restored selection, and revisit this pivotal period in the evolution of Hong Kong film culture. Meanwhile ‘What is Film, Anyway?’ will illustrate the history and appeal of celluloid with presentations of motion picture film formats and projectors, and the screening of a celluloid short.
