About the Programme
‘Techno Sapiens’ positions the digital as an underlying condition that permeates all aspects of contemporary life. This six-part screening programme, featuring artists’ films, documentaries, and narrative features, alongside post-screening talks, explores the subjective experiences of loneliness and connection, considering how humanity is being affected by new technologies.
How do developments in simulation, automation, and artificial intelligence enhance our capacity for care and connection, and how are they eroding those qualities? How does emotional rhetoric fit with the rational discourse associated with Big Tech? In what ways is technology influencing and challenging humanity, impacting our relationships with each other, and with the world?
